The good news keeps rolling in. Paragon Jousting has just booked it's first official show for 2006. Lots of other stuff in the works as well. Keep coming back for more information.

2005-12-12

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new steed to Paragon Jousting. Our newest acquisition is a 9 year old Belgian-Quarterhorse Cross. He stands 16.1 hands high, and shows great promise in taking to his new job as a jouster. Watch for him to joust in the 2006 season. More details and pictures as we have them.

2005-11-27

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of "Exclusive Triple Dee" better known as Diablo. Please visit our Diablo tribute page. More pictures and tributes will be added.

2005-11-03

Today Scott provided an interview to Maxim Magazine for an article about jousting to run in the February issue. Scott talked with the editor about what it takes to joust, and the challenges that face the professional jouster. The article will run in the "How-To" section of the magazine.

More details when we have them.

When you can't be there in person, the next best thing is a picture. So headon over to our Gallery Page and take a look at pictures from the 2005 Connecticut Renaissance Faire.

We have just come off four weekends of performing at The Connecticut Renaissance Faire. We even made news in The Hartford Courant. Paragon Jousting would like to thank the folks from Roundtable Productions for another great season working together, this time for a five horse show, with four horses jousting! Despite the weather, we happily jousted in the rain for three days on Columbus Day weekend. Though the weather was awful, the patrons were fantastic!

Unfortunately, CTRF was flooded out during the fourth weekend. Paragon Jousting sends Our thoughts and sympathies go to all those vendors and the CTRF owners who have been hit worst by mother nature. Thankfully, nobody was hurt and no lives lost. However, lots of wet people in the pouring rain and property damage. Here's looking forward to 2006.

Speaking of looking forward, this weekend Paragon Jousting is travelling to Stanhope, NJ for the 2005 Family Medieval & Fantasy Festival put on annually by Paladin Music & Entertainment, Inc. A Portion of the Festival's Proceeds Will Go To the NJ Chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation! Paragon Jousting is looking forward to our first ever appearance in The Garden State.

We are back in Connecticut, with the opening of The Connecticut Renaissance Faire. We have introduced our new heavy war lances, and we are also happy to have Robb and Kate from Roundtable Productions joining us in the field again. Watch for some three and four horse jousts in the upcoming shows, and watch out for shattering lances!

This weekend we are venturing to Woodstock, Connecticut, to get ready for the opening of The Connecticut Renaissance Faire, which opens on September 24. The 17th and 18th is dress rehearsal weekend for the show, and we will be bringing the horses down to get them acclimated to the new field.

2005-09-12

In between all the show prep, Paladin's training continues. Scott has him moving nicely under saddle, and Beorn is working to acclimate the horse to swords and lances. We're happy with his progress, and can't wait to show him next year!

2005-09-11

Scott recently returned from a two day trip to New York state, where he taught an Introduction to Stage Combat class at Wells College in Aurora, New York. The faculty and students were great, and he looks forward to returning at some point, possibly with horses in tow.

2005-08-24

We have added more information and pictures on Paladin's Page. We also keep adding pictures to the Gallery Page so keep checking back.

We have also added a brand new page (as you might be able to tell by looking at the navigation menu) focusing on Parades, Camps and other Events. Jousting isn't just for Renaissance Faires anymore.

2005-08-23

Yeah, we've been busy here. We've created a brand new Gallery Page. Okay, we cheated a little and we're using the fairly well known Gallery software. After some customization, it's working great. If you happen to notice something weird, please let the Webmaster know.

In addition, we have updated out Schedule Page with more information about some of our surprise private shows. Paragon Jousting has been a big hit at many boys and girls camps around New England and in New York. We'll have more information soon about the shows we provide for these and other venues outside of the Renaissance Faire community. Please keep checking back with us.

2005-08-22

After a brief break after the summer shows, we are back to work preparing for The Connecticut Renaissance Faire, opening September 24th. We will be joined again by Robb and Kate of Roundtable Productions, and we may also have some other Roundtable knights guest-jousting with us during the run of this faire. Look for some 4 horse Armored Jousts, and a very busy field during the Gaming Joust shows. Mucky Buckets will also likely show up to try her broom competing against the knights.

We'll be running with heavier lances for this show, and although Paragon typically jousts in the French style (lance and shields, passing left shoulder to left shoulder), watch for Robb and Scott to demonstrate some of the heavier hitting styles of jousting. We're looking forward to the show, and hope to see you there!

We might also bring out our newest horse, Paladin, so he can watch the shows.

2005-08-18

The Paragon crew is back home again, getting a well deserved break from the summer schedule.

The Northern Catskill Mountains Renaissance Faire (in Cairo, NY) was a tremendous success. Despite the heat, attendance at this first-year faire was very good, and everyone had a great time. Scott (as Sir Devon) finally returned to the saddle, 16 weeks after shoulder surgery, to joust against Becca (as Dame Fiona). The shows went well, the crowds were great, and we look forward to returning to Cairo next summer!

2005-08-16

On the Monday after Cairo, the team performed a private joust show for Ramapo Country Day Camp in Airmont, New York. The joust was the kick-off for the summer camp's Olympic(tm) games, which pitted team 'Rama' against team 'Po'. Fiona and Devon championed the two teams, first jousting, then battling with swords for about 500 campers, aged 8 to 14. Brenda acted as Master of the list under her knight persona Dame Agnes. This high-energy event was especially fun for the jousters, as we performed on a field wired for sound. The camp had specially selected music for the joust, so Scott and Becca got to fight to the sounds of Queen's 'We Will Rock You'.

Presumably as a result of the music and announcers, Mister Mister seemed to have a flashback to his English Show days, as he picked his head up high and remembered his fancy Park-Horse gaits during this performance.

2005-08-15

While the rest of the Paragon Crew is performing another show in New York, your friendly neighborhood webmaster has returned from Cairo, NY and can report that we all had a great time at The Northern Catskill Mountains Renaissance Faire. Special thanks to the show's producer for taking such great care of us. We look forward to returning next year and we'll have a full report sometimes soon.

In other news, Paragon Jousting has added another member to our family with the purchase of another horse. Pictures and more info to come.

2005-08-06

Today, Paragon Jousting performed for several hundred campers at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac in Lennox, Massachusetts. The joust was the kickoff for their Olympic(tm) games, with Sir Devon and Sir Padraig performing a combined version of the gaming and armored joust shows.

2005-08-01

Wow! So much going on, where to begin? We just finished four fantastic weekends at The Vermont Renaissance Festival in Guilford, VT. Becca and Puck made their VTRF debuts riding on alternating weekends against Robb Earhart of Roundtable Productions. In the gaming joust, Brenda joined in and the Vermont audiences got their first glimpse of "Mucky Buckets" in the saddle. And in one of the after hours highlights of the run, Puck was made a knight.

The Monday following the close of VTRF, we performed a private show for KenMont and KenWood Camps in Kent, CT. Paragon was a surprise for the campers during their annual Color Wars event. Becca rode on behalf of the girls while Robb rode for the boys. Nobody anticipated the excitement from these great campers and a fantastic time was had by all.

Pictures from both these events will be up on our Gallery Page.

In addition to this, Paragon has booked two more shows. The first is this coming Saturday, August 6th. The other is on Monday, August 15the day after our Cairo, NY appearance. These two new shows are both private performances but the Cairo show isn't. The details for that show are on our Schedule Page.

In other news, Scott and Brenda are currently evaluating two new horses as potential joust steeds, so the Paragon family may be growing soon. Stay tuned!

There's lots of other great news on the horizon so please keep checking back. We've been getting a lot of calls and a lot of interest so we could be showing up in your neck of the woods any day now. Just listen for the rumbling of horse hooves and the clash of swords.

2005-06-08

For the second year in a row, Paragon Jousting joined our friends from The Vermont Renaissance Festival in the annual "Strolling of the Heifers" parade in Brattleboro, Vermont.

The crowds were great, the weather was beautiful, and everyone had a great time. (We actually got to meet some cows this year!) Becca rode Mister Mister, and Puck rode Diablo. After the parade, we stayed around for a while to meet the parade-goers, and gave them a chance to meet the horses. Brattleboro is a beautiful area, and we're looking forward to the Vermont Renaissance Festival opening on June 25th!

2005-05-16

Paragon Jousting has once again been asked to join The Vermont Renaissance Festival for the annual Strolling of the Heifers parade in Brattleboro, VT on Saturday, June 4th. We had a great time at the parade last year, and look forward to seeing everyone there.

2005-04-21

Scott traveled to Hudson, NY this morning for an interview on WHUC 1230 AM regarding the Catskill Mountains Renaissance Faire which Paragon Jousting is to be part of August 13 and 14 in Cairo, NY. We hope to have excerpts from the interview available on the website.

2005-04-08

We have just signed on to perform a private show in CT on July 18th, the day after The Vermont Renaissance Festival closes. This is truly shaping up to be a fantastic year.

2005-04-04

A bio for Carolyn, one of the new Paragon Squires, has been added to the Performers Page.

2005-03-30

We are happy to announce that Robb Earhart of Roundtable Productions will once again be joining us for our engagement at The Vermont Renaissance Festival this summer, and also that he will also be jousting with us at The Connecticut Renaissance Faire for the entire run in September and October. Robb and his steed Frederick the Great always make an impression at shows, and we are very excited about working with him again this year. We also hope that Kate Hopkins, also from Roundtable, may be enticed to join us on the field at some point during these shows. Watch for her and her steed, Guy of Gisborne. We always enjoy working with Roundtable Productions, and look forward to an exciting 2005!

2005-03-17

We have just added another date. October 22 and 23 in NJ. Check out the Schedule Page for details.

We also added a new bio for Ken "Beorn" Turner to our Performers Page and we are updating the bio for Brenda as well. Jump on over and learn all about our staff.

2005-03-13

On March 13th, Paragon Jousting joined the Connecticut Renaissance Faire in the New Haven St. Patrick's day parade. The snow held off, and everyone has a great time, paraders and patrons alike. Although we did not count every reveler along the route, the streets were filled with people. The New Haven Police department was projecting turnout at 150,000 . This was the first public appearance for our newest joust horse, Diablo. As expected, Diablo made a great showing at his debut, and we are very excited about jousting him this summer.
