Bill Hitchcock

Copyright 2004-2010 Paragon Jousting, LLC

William "Wild Bill" Hitchcock has been handling, training and driving horses for over 40 years. Since his youth, he has worked with driving horses in farming, wagon and carriage work. He has been involved in the driving of the famous Wells Fargo Stagecoach owned by Wells College in Aurora, New York for 40 years.

A resident of the Finger Lakes region for his whole life, his family has famously operated horse powered equipment, keeping a herd of up to 25 working Percherons, as well as vintage steam engines for steam shows and the prestigious New York State Pageant of Steam. He has done work from foundries to handmade custom leather shoes at the Aurora Shoe company, which were sold at the Sterling Renaissance Faire.

Bill met the Paragon Jousting team in 2008 when he took charge of refreshing Apollo's training as a driving horse. After that he began to work shows with the team on the road and is now commonly seen throwing swords on the joust field and driving the Paragon Wagon at Renaissance Faires and Halloween events all over the Northeast.

Bill's enthusiasm in the shows as well as his vast horse experience makes him a tremendous asset to the Paragon Jousting team and we look forward to many more shows on the road with Wild Bill.
