A challenge has been issued, and the knights ride onto the field, lightly armored. During the first event of this program, the knights battle in the "Crest and Baton" challenge. Each knight has a plaster crest mounted upon his or her helm, and the object is for each competitor to smash the other knight's crest with a wooden baton, while protecting their own. The knights may compete against each other on horseback, or against polaxe-wielding knights on the ground.
The next event is the Joust of Peace, where the knights tilt with light lances and shields, seeking to gain points by striking their opponents soundly upon the shield. The rules say that no knight shall deliberately unhorse the other knight, as it is a "friendly" contest. Or is it?
This performance is approximately 30 minutes, allowing for audience interaction as well as a question and answer session.
